Sizing Information

All vintage sizing varies dramatically from modern standards. Women's body shapes and sizes have changed so much over the years and I therefore avoid all reference to vintage sizes. What I do instead is measure the items.

All the measurements that I have taken are actual fabric measurements of the garment and are taken in inches. Therefore to get as near as perfect fit as possible, the garment should be slightly larger than actual body measurements.

I would recommend that you lay a similar garment you may already have on a flat surface, with all zips, buttons etc fastened, then measure,

BUST
I measure from underarm to underarm and if this is say 18", I will double that for a bust of 36"

WAIST
This is measured at the natural waistline.

HIPS
Hips are measured at the fullest point, usually 7 to 8" below the waistline.

As you know, modern day clothing sizes can differ from one high street shop to the next. I am a size 10 in one shop and a 12 to 14 in another! Therefore the sizes that I have quoted eg 8, 10, 12 are for a rough guide only! PLEASE take more notice of the measurements taken and compare them to one of your own garments.

OTHER INFORMATION
I try to describe items as accurately as I possibly can. I also try to give you details on the general condition of the item so that you are aware of any flaws etc.

Any flaws or problems will be noted (visible stains and holes, for example).

Please remember that these are vintage pieces and have been worn, danced in, and have a history about them! So don't expect total perfection!

But if you are daring and really love the item, get that confidence together, despite the odd flaw, wear it and make an amazing fashion statement! How many absolutely stunning period homes are tattered with old oils? Take that same concept to a personal level and dare to wear a vintage ruin!

On the other hand, if you want new and perfection, then sadly, this website is not for you.
